Ouchie Mamas

We are thrilled that you have landed in our little corner of the internet, allow me to introduce ourselves and tell you a little bit about how Ouchie Mamas came to be. 

Ouchie Mamas was created by Kaylee and Albert right at the start of COVID-19. 

We both were let go from our jobs when everything shut down.

Kaylee worked as a waitress for 10+ years and Albert worked at Nordstrom for 5+ years. We both worked for our money in the way of commission and tips through our professional careers, building exceptional customer service skills while understanding the quality of effort you put in will result in your outcome. 

Both of us have always been creative and innovative people who dreamed of working for ourselves one day. 

   

In February of 2020 we took a life changing trip to Costa Rica. While we we were there we purchased the most beautiful Opal macramé necklace from a street vendor that would later become a huge inspiration for Ouchie Mamas. Upon our return to the United States we saw that this Covid-19 outbreak was a serious matter. Once we were home we got the news that we no longer were able to go back to our regular scheduled jobs or life.

Of course we were fearful and worried like the rest of the world, but instead of dwelling on this situation we saw the light in a dark time and alas Ouchie Mamas was created. The Opal necklace purchased in Costa Rica was a huge inspiration and Kaylee realized she could learn to macrame her own jewelry. She taught herself to create macrame necklaces like the one from Costa Rica but would wrap worry stones instead. We could not figure out what to name our business and one night Kaylee stubbed her toe and shrieked “Ouchie mamas!” And Albert said “that’s it! That will be the name.” We agreed that it was different and would create a buzz when people heard the name. It also abbreviates to OM which conveniently fits the spiritual vibe that Ouchie Mamas encompasses.. 

We both have taken our years of customer service, creativity and sales and built this business from the ground up. When both of us were offered our jobs back, we realized that we were on the path of living the dream life we always wanted and kindly denied our old jobs to pursue this dream. We LOVE the fact that we are able to sell our own products that we actually resonate with and create genuine connections with YOU, instead of selling products and hustling for a company other than our own.
